ABOUT US:
Aviation Communication Experts is the ONLY Aviation Radio Instruction company using actual FAA licensed Air Traffic Controllers as instructors and mentors. We are highly experienced aviation professionals who have the drive to transform aviation radio operations with improved safety, efficiency and compliance. We understand the aviation industry’s needs, and we know how to deliver the most impactful operational benefits. It’s what sets us apart and above other radio instruction companies.
Aviation Communication Experts LLC is the result of 4.5 years of training, implementation, and analysis of private radio instruction; designed and developed to be an entirely new class of Aviation Radio Instruction. Aviation Communication Experts’ unique program offers comprehensive, detailed, concise, and industry-specific radio instruction. The value of aviation-specific radio training taught by a licensed air traffic controller cannot be overstated.
PROBLEM:
There is a level of risk in almost everything we do in life. In the aviation sector, the risk is ever-present, and several processes exist to mitigate the risk of getting from point A to point B. Unfortunately, the FAA has not addressed the need for aviation radio skills in the US, even though Aviation English has been a formal language in Europe since 2008.
Conventional aviation radio instruction depends solely on the knowledge of the individual Flight Instructor randomly and unsystematically teaching a student pilot to communicate while teaching the student how to “fly the aircraft.” As you correctly surmise, the most important instruction is learning how to fly. All flight training is structured, mandated, and tested. But, surprisingly, aviation radio communication instructions are neither required nor tested by the FAA nor a DPE.
As a result of the absence or lack of regulations, radio instruction is typically learned by parroting the Instructor and picking up bits and pieces of information gained via secondhand radio transmissions.
As you can imagine, this lack of unstructured instruction has led to a generation of pilots requiring help with fundamental communication skills. When an Instructor has poor radio skills, the student typically has even more inferior skills. And as hard as it is to believe, many individuals are unaware of their poor radio skills.
Many people avoid conversations about their poor radio skills because they fear not knowing what to say, being laughed at, or being judged. An authentic conversation may be the first step toward significant change and improvement. We make it easy to face your fears, overcome radio training deficits, and increase your overall safety as a pilot.
ACE’s primary goal is safety. The importance of operational risk in the aviation industry can never be understated, and identifying and mitigating hazards is the heart of managing the risk. When queried about reducing the risk of participating in flight training, the answer from every Air Traffic Controller, without exception, was improving radio communications. It’s a no-brainer; learning and using excellent radio skills is vital to safety. The more you know, the more you can reduce risk. To put it on a more relatable level, would you fly your family in an aircraft if you had subpar skills?
Some radio communication companies feel using computer-generated and simulated Air Traffic Controllers is acceptable. I’ll admit it does seem reasonable from a company profit standpoint; however, it doesn’t always translate well in the actual flying environment.
SOLUTION:
Self-study isn’t the only option available when learning the language of aviation. Our Comprehensive Learning Management System (CLMS) program starts with the fundamentals of Aviation English. Our syllabus contains specialized vocabulary and phraseology designed to pass information between the Pilot and Controller more accurately and concisely with little to no chance of misunderstanding.
We use essential Controller-led training sessions scheduled online for in-person instruction via video conferencing. We take the monotony out of training and make it fun and engaging. We turn the typical unstructured and haphazard aviation radio training into a world-class educational program. We work with you to uncover gaps in your radio skills and develop customized solutions to solve your challenges. This purposeful process yields sustainable and long-term results, distinguishes us, and sets us far above our competition.
The degree of specialized training we provide can only be taught by individuals highly skilled and proficient in the Aviation Language and its usage. As such, all ACE Instructors are actual FAA-licensed Air Traffic Controllers.
We teach using scenarios tailored to the individualized needs of the students. One significant advantage of this approach is stopping a scenario at a student’s request and having the Air Traffic Controller explain the concept or reasoning for an instruction when needed. We deliberately keep our class size small, never more than five students.
The benefits of our program are undeniable. Still, the most critical value is the tremendous increase in safety when a pilot effectively and efficiently communicates with Air Traffic Control.
On the Internet, everyone is an “expert.” Aviation Communications Experts are EXPERTS; we have the FAA licenses to prove it. No BS, No Jargon. Straight from the 7110.65 and the FAR/AIM approved and authorized phraseology.
The aviation industry has changed. Not only is the battle for talent fierce, but you must ensure you are positioned for what comes next. You need to be faster, fitter, and leaner to rise to the challenge and be job ready for that airline position you are working for. Our training will position you to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the new era in aviation.
