All student pilots receive basic radio coaching from their Flight Instructor. I got one on one training specific to my individual needs and skill level with a REAL Air Traffic Controller. After training with Pam, my radio skills are far superior to most licensed pilots. She is a natural teacher and will quickly give you the confidence you want and need.
I did most of my private pilot training at non-towered airports outside of DFW so the heavy and complex radio communication inside of DFW airspace was unknown to me. I was never properly trained on the appropriate responses or read backs with Towers, Approach or Departure. Additionally, I did most of my time building for my Commercial license flying at uncontrolled airports. As a result, I had a lack of confidence in talking to Tower and Approach. Pamela had me run-through scenarios she wrote for me to that improved my radio usage and gain confidence to make radio calls effectively and correctly. Once I learned what I needed to say and when, talking on the radio became easy and stress free. The training Pamela provides is very beneficial for any student.
My sessions with Pamela Ware drastically improved my communication skills and elevated my confidence as a pilot. I was very intimidated by the communication aspect of being a pilot; unsure if I understood the instructions correctly & what to say. Pamela is a natural at what she does. She quickly identified my weaknesses and developed scenarios that helped me to understand & implement her training thus helping me to become the safe & confident pilot that I am today. I hope you will support her work so that she can continue to help other aspiring pilots like she did with me.
I seriously cannot recommend this more! I think it is wonderful that pilots have access to this training. Working with Pam did wonders for me. She is absolutely fantastic! This is truly going to help so many pilots.
I made many mistakes and was uncomfortable when talking to Air Traffic Controllers.
After I trained with Pamela, everything changed. Because of you and your program, I am now 100% confident and comfortable on the radio. Never being afraid of what to say on the radio has changed my life. I can’t thank you enough for the help you gave me.
I have no hesitation in recommending you to fellow pilots struggling with aviation communication.
I came to Pamela with my private pilot’s license however I STRUGGLED with my comms. Since starting training with her, I was able to go from terrible read backs to reading back correctly. She helped me understand the correct phraseology when talking with tower and making non-towered calls.
It was challenging to say the least but I’m so grateful for the time she spent on helping me improve radios calls. I highly recommend Pamela to every student entering the aviation industry from the start. She’ll help you build great confidence and help you actually understand what you heard and respond accordingly. I’m now an instrument rated pilot working on my Commercial thanks to her!!!!
While pursuing the initial phases of my flight career, and despite an extensive history and background in radio communications, I was stumbling with the ability to gain definitive proficiency with learning the language and techniques of aviation communications. I was referred by my flight instructors to Ms. Ware, as she had been of great assistance to previous students. Within a few short telephonic tutoring sessions Ms. Ware had increased my skills, which endowed me with the confidence to complete my initial training as well as other more advanced aviation courses.
I was never very confident with radio calls even after getting my PPL. Working on my instrument rating was a major task, learning all of the new information and still being new to radio calls that I was falling behind. Now that I’m a CFII it is another task trying to give students radio calls exactly how ATC would. Knowing how to make radio calls from the pilot side is more about reading back what we’re told. Knowing the phraseology for different scenarios with ATC is hard to practice without actually calling up ATC. But when calling ATC, we know they are busy and the students have a difficult time with the speed of calls, instructors usually take half the calls sometimes because we don’t have time to instruct the student on what to say back. Being able to talk to Pam and practice without the rush in the plane was very beneficial to me in understanding when and why certain calls were made as I got to ask questions and slow down. I would hope everyone would get the same opportunity so that training can be at least that much easier for aspiring pilots.
“I am so very happy that this will be widely available to more pilots! I am able testify to how amazing Meridith Killian and Pamela Ware are! These extraordinary instructors helped me achieve my commercial multi engine several years ago.
After flying for some time at a non-towered airport I was extremely rusty communicating w/ATC when I began training w/Meridith at KADS. She referred me to Pamela Ware. Ms. Ware was phenomenal! She tailored lessons to my specific needs. After working with her I was more confident and less overwhelmed when communicating w/ATC in the fast-paced Bravo airspace. I cannot recommend their exceptional program enough!”
“I seriously cannot recommend this program more! I think it is wonderful that pilots have access to this training. Working with Pamela did wonders for me. She is absolutely fantastic! I still pull out the scenarios that she sent to me when I feel as though I need a review. They are extremely helpful. I think what you both are doing is fantastic, and it is truly going to help so many pilots.”
